It’s only Tuesday, but like the meme I saw on Facebook read… This week ends with pie and shopping so we can power through, folks! I’ll start with what I’m good at and that’s a super simple recipe that’s perfect for that little bit of leftover chili!
I put chili in the crock-pot last Friday and it was a yummy dinner…and lunch…and dinner again. Then Sunday evening rolled around…fast…and I failed to thaw meat, bought minimal “regular” groceries because it’s Thanksgiving week which means I’m counting on my family eating leftover turkey and green bean casserole ThursdayFridaySaturdaySunday… so there I stood…In my kitchen trying to figure out what to make out of fruit snacks and frozen chicken. And there my crock-pot stood…in my fridge with just a tad bit of chili remaining. Bingo.
ONE OF WAYLON’S SIGNATURE MEALS<—-SEE PROPS HERE***
Chili Dog Wraps
- Chili (canned will work fine if you don’t have leftovers)
- Tortillas (I use whole grain but flour is perfect, too)
- Hot dogs
- Shredded Cheese
Spoon a bit of chili into a tortilla. Throw a hot dog in there. Smidge of shredded cheese. Wrap it all up like a burrito and place in a casserole dish seam side down. Spread a spoonful of salsa on top of the wrap then add a little shredded cheese on top. Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes. Voila!
This a great kid-friendly meal and also a good party dish. Enjoy!
Now onto something a little gross.
I had braces for approximately 700 hundred years and when I finally got them off ,my parents were WONDERFUL and paid to have them whitened. Y’all. They were GORGEOUS. I loved how white they were. The actual process was a bit painful…not when they did it, but afterward. For a few hours it was like lightening bolts going through my teeth, but totally worth it because pain is beauty. They stayed white for years. I’d definitely do it again someday. But right now I’m looking for a quick fix because I can barely make it for a yearly smear, much less getting my teeth bleached. I was a junior in high school when I had my teeth whitened and since then I’ve had 4,982 pots of coffee, 73 pregnancies (majorly affected my teeth), flossed like twice and my super white teeth are no more. I’ve seen multiple people suggest Crest 3D White toothpaste on Insta and other blogs I follow.
So I bought it and took a “before” picture exactly two weeks ago. It’s definitely working!
They’re not where I’d like them to be, but that’s a lot of progress for two weeks of $6 toothpaste!
Stay tuned later this week to see how an actual homemade Thanksgiving dessert turns out for me. EEEEK. I have green bean casserole, creamy corn, baked beans and pumpkin cake on my list. Fortunately for me, those are the easy ones! The day I have to prepare dressing will be a day of panic.
